Jeff Smith's Bone Getting the Movie Treatment - 2013

Film adaptation of Jeff Smith's comic book Bone is currently in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Patrick Sean Smith (Greek TV series) has been hired by Warner Bros. to pen the script, while P.J. Hogan is on board to direct the adaptation and Dan Lin together with Animal Logic will produce the film.

The story follows Smiley Bone, Phoney Bone and Fone Bone. Having been run out of their village “Boneville” owing to Phoney's mischief, they find themselves lost and separated in a strange and magical valley where they are helped by dangerous creatures. Fone Bone falling in love with a human girl Thorn who has the power of a bull...and looks to be sharing anxious dreams with Bone about the fears of the past- all of which conceivably the only way to save the future of the valley.

After a failed attempt was made by Nickelodeon to bring the story to the big screen in the late 90’s, Warner Brothers were finally acquired the film rights to Bone in 2008.
