CoF Orchestral album features Most Popular songs

Cradle Of Filth (CoF) will release two-disc new orchestral album titled Midnight in the Labyrinth on April 21, 2012. The releases will feature CoF’s most popular songs from their first four albums: The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, V Empire, Dusk... and Her Embrace and Cruelty and the Beast.

If you are a metal fan, you have almost certainly ran across CoF. If you're into death/black metal, than there's no way you can avoid this band. While many would argue that their recent albums weren't really 'extreme metal', they feel like CoF have become softer over the years, which can be seen by comparing their previous albums to their recent records. It seems as if Cradle Of Filth have moved from their own form of black metal to their own form of heavy metal. Some would also state that they have sold out.

I still listen to their recent albums (Godspeed and Darkly), but nothing quite compares to the sound of V Empire, Cruelty, Dusk and The Principle. Midian was their last record that maintained the brutality of the 'old Cradle'. But, I truly believe their recent releases are hidden gems as some amazing songs on there. I would be the first to admit that Pyres and Anstis had a lot to do with the sound and progression of their golden years. Allender has apparently taken on a more pompous sound (lots of thrashy fillers, and not quite as dark or creepy as the old school records). He knows how to write, and I think he believes this is the new Cradle Of Filth - an evolved version of the past.
