For over ten years Lionel Richie was one of the most reliable hitmakers. First as frontman of The Commodores and then as a solo singer he chalked up several chart topping hits between seventies and eighties. But after leaving Motown records in the nineties hits simply trimmed down. He carried on to record with some minor success but for all intents and purposes it emerged that his days as a major singer were almost over. However, Richie returned to his rookie form with the release of Tuskegee. Here he gives his hits singles a new twist with the assist of country's biggest stars from Blake Shelton to Kenny Rogers. Unlike the recreate records from the past decade from other singers, this album works perfectly for him.
