Tintin 2 movie is expected to release in theaters in 2015

You would think that there is nothing in the movie business someone in the likes of Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg can't get these days. In any case, they are the men who made some of the biggest smash hits in Hollywood history.

Peter Jackson is best known for his Lord of the Rings trilogy, District 9, The Lovely Bones and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey while Steven Spielberg's film credits comprise Jaws, Indiana Jones, The Land Before Time, Jurassic Park, Casper, Men in Black and many other great movies.

Spielberg first acquired the film rights to Tintin back in 1983. He had conceived the project for over two decades until Sony Pictures and Paramount Pictures offer to fund the production. In 2011 “The Adventures of Tintin” was released. It was directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson. The film was grossed over $370 million worldwide.

According to the bleedingcool.com Peter Jackson intends to start filming all of the motion capture footage for the “Tintin 2” in 2013 while he is still putting the finishing touches on The Hobbit film.

For the follow-up, Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg will switch roles. Peter will direct, while Steven will remain on board as one of the producers.

Tintin 2 is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2015.
