More actors join the cast of In the Heart of the Sea

The director Ron Howard's upcoming drama "In the Heart of the Sea" focuses on the true story of Nantucket Whaleship Essex. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers" star Chris Hemsworth, Brendan Gleeson (Mad-Eye Moody) and Sam Keeley (Godzilla) will also join the cast of “In the Heart of the Sea” film adaptation.

The disaster of the whaleship Essex was a story that most people knew in that era. This true story was the inspiration for Herman Melville’s book Moby Dick. Previously, most information known about the incident was derived from one of survivors “Owen Chase”. However, in "In the Heart of the Sea," by Nathaniel Philbrick, the author takes newly found information from one of the crew members, Thomas Nickerson, to piece together a more comprehensive story of the ship's fate.

"In the Heart of the Sea" is the story of the Whaleship Essex, which was sank in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after having been attacked by a giant sperm whale, leaving its crew to fend for themselves for 90 plus days in open boats.

Furthermore, Benjamin Walker ('Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter "), Cillian Murphy ("The Dark Knight Rises") and Tom Holland also on board for the adaptation.

The script is written by Charles Leavitt, and the production is set to start this September.
