The Strokes revealed in a newsletter, titled “Fall 2013 Update”, that they are working on a new project to "return to the music scene" in the coming year. They also revealed their guitarist Albert Hammond’s recent solo effort (AHJ).
The message read "Hello everybody, while The Strokes are toiling and writing, thinking about returning to the music scene in 2014, Albert Hammond Jr. is busy with his new solo EP 'AHJ' ..."
The guitarist himself said in an interview that they have material for ten more albums after "Comedown Machine ", which was released in March this year.
