Watch: Lady Gaga wears flying dress at ARTPOP launch party

On the eve of the release of her new album "artpop", Lady Gaga invited the press and a few selected guests at the album launch party, which took place on Sunday (10) in Brooklyn, New York. The event called "ArtRave" featured display of sculpture created by artist Jeff Koons for the album cover, and the performance of the pop star.

Another highlight of the festival was the presentation of the flying dress designed by the team of Gaga and a technology company in San Diego. Called Volantis, the costume / high tech vehicle with two runs and six turbine engines, and was capable of carrying the singer for a few seconds in the air.

“I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world… Their minds are just so boundless. They’re just so inspiring.”

Though Volantis is just “a vehicle”, is essentially a metaphor for me. I will be the vehicle for their voices," added the pop star.

The album "artpop" hit the stores today and it’s already occupied the top of iTunes in over 70 countries.
