James Hetfield and Sammy Haggar organize benefit concert for children with cancer

James Hetfiled of Metallica and Sammy Hagar (Chickenfoot and ex- Van Halen ) joined forces to organize a big charity event. The "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" will take place on May 15 at the legendary Fillmore Theater in San Francisco and will have the participation of various rock stars.

Among the names already confirmed are Billie Joe from Green Day, Nancy Wilson of Heart and guitarist Joe Satriani.

The show is clearly inspired by the "Bridge School Benefit" that Neil Young organizes annually. Like this, all performances of "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" will be acoustic and there is the promise that new encounters among the greats of rock will also happen.

All proceeds from the event will go to the treatment program for childhood cancer from "Benioff Children's Hospital."

In an official statement, Hagar said he had seen the great work done by hospital doctors and the support of the community is important to move the project successfully.

"I gave the idea to organize a concert for James quickly and we already had an amazing lineup of artists ready to perform," said the musician.
