Chromecast now allows screen mirroring Android devices on TV

Starting this Wednesday (9), Chromecast users may mirror the screen of Android devices on their televisions. The new feature, long awaited by the owners of the dongle and announced during the Google I / O , lets you view the contents of the cell directly on TV.

The new feature, for now, is only available to beta testers, or for users who have a trial version of the app. According to the post on the Google Chrome website, the novelty will come to others from the 1.7 edition of Chromecast application, due out in a few weeks time.

However, not all Android phones can use the mirroring function. Only the owners of handsets Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10, Galaxy S4 and S4 (Google Play Edition), S5 Galaxy, Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10, in addition to the HTC One M7 (Standard Edition and Google Play) and LG G3, G2 and G Pro 2 will benefit.

To use the function, a user need only tap the "Cast Screen" button on the Chromecast application and then select the device to receive the images. Nexus smartphones and tablets, you can also access the resource via the quick settings menu.
