Axl Rose turns 53: Ten Memorable Guns N 'Roses Songs

Axl Rose, lead singer of Guns N 'Roses, was turned 53 this Friday so we pay tribute with ten memorable songs of this rock icon. The list was drawn up by fans of the group themselves through a survey published by the magazine Rolling Stone.

1. NOVEMBER RAIN

In first place by an overwhelming majority and eight symphonic minutes that are part of a trilogy, this video portrays a hypothetical marriage between Axl Rose and his then girlfriend, model Stephanie Seymour. The image of Slash knocking on doors of the church is a historical scene of rock lovers.


2. SWEET CHILD O 'MINE

The first big hit of Guns N 'Roses and probably its most famous song spearhead by Slash's guitar riffs. It is expected that the original members may team up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this April 14.


3. WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Success inevitable at parties and crazy nights, perfect to finish jumping on the table. A rabid warning about the dangers and excesses of the city.



4. PARADISE CITY

Other than the predecessor, Axl Rose claimed a ride to paradise in the city, with green grass and beautiful women. A classic concerts closure. The video was recorded from various shows in the late eighties. The song taken from the album "Appetite for Destruction", which has sold 25 million copies since its release in 1987.


5. Estranged

Considered one of the most expensive video of history (about 1.5 $ million). The plot closes the trilogy started with "Don’t cry" and continued in "November Rain". In this episode, Axl is arrested, committed to an asylum, and then end up on a boat in the sea and swimming with dolphins. By then, the band members were already alienated and do not appear together, except for some shots of the video.


6. DON'T CRY

One of the first releases of Guns N 'Roses, part of their shows even before signing its first record deal. The video begins the trilogy disturbing love story between Axlr Rose and his girlfriend Stephanie.


7. CIVIL WAR

This release first appeared in 1990 on the compilation "Nobody's Child: Romanian Angel Appeal" became an anthem against the war after publication in the two parts of "Use Your Illusion" and the tour of 1993 that ended with the original lineup of the band.


8. Nightrain

This song was composed to talk about the band cheap wine in the mid-eighties in Los Angeles. The original name of this drink was Night Train Express. This classic eighties was unfairly overshadowed by the arrival of new repertoire.


9. ROCKET QUEEN

With the touch of Axl in complex compositions, highlighting the famous moans you hear on the subject. In an effort to be as real as possible, vocalist took a girl to the studio to have sex while they were recording. As if this were not enough, the burning fémina was the ex-girlfriend of drummer Steven Adler.


10. KNOCKIN 'ON HEAVEN' S DOOR

The original version was recorded by Bob Dylan in 1973 for the film "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" and is one of the songs with more versions in history. Of course, the version of Guns N 'Roses was always better live.
