WhatsApp - iPhone: How to use Filters on Photos, Videos, GIFs

The WhatsApp for iPhone ( iOS ) application got a new update v2.17.30 recently. This update brings the function of applying filters to images sent by the messenger. The feature works natively on photos, GIFs and videos, without the user having to use other programs to apply effects to the images.

Check out the step by step guide on how to use the new feature. Tips are good for photos sent in conversations with friends and groups as well as for shared images in WhatsApp Status.

Step 1. On the conversation screen, touch the camera icon to take a picture or record a video. If you want to use images from your library, touch the "+" button and choose "Photos and Videos".

Step 2. After taking a photo, recording a video, or selecting an image from your gallery, tap on the image and slide it up. The filter options will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3. Select the desired filter and slide the image down to close the filters. Finally, touch the blue button in the lower right corner of the screen to send the photo, GIF or video.

That way, you'll be able to apply filters to your shared photos and videos in WhatsApp.
