ELEX: Fix Load and Save Errors, Slow, Crashes and Lags

Some ELEX players have reported numerous errors and bug issues that prevent them from enjoying the game. In this guide, we share some of the most common ELEX problems and give you some possible solutions to fix them.

Before you jump into our troubleshooting guide for ELEX, make sure that your PC can actually run the game.

ELEX, Fix Loading, Saving Errors, Slow Downs, Crashes and Lags
If your computer meets the ELEX system requirements, and not starting, terminate, lagging, slowdown or crashing problems persist then you should try the following:

First, download and install the latest drivers for your graphic cards.

- Then, run the game "as Administrator". Search for the .exe file from ELEX and right-click.
- Go to Steam settings and disable the overlay.
- Uninstall the game and reinstall it.
- Look for updates for your Steam client.
- Set Steam to run in offline mode and start ELEX.
- Disconnect your gamepad from the PC and try to start the game.
- Right-click the .exe file from ELEX and select Properties. Activate the "Compatibility mode for: " program in the compatibility tab. Then select your operating system. Priority setting
- Open the task manager when the game is open and switch to the Processes tab . Right-click ELEX and select Set priority: High.
- Restart your computer.

Fix ELEX Stuck / Hangs in Intro or Skip Intro

If you won’t be bale see the developer and publisher logos? Then you can do the following:

- Go to the game folder :\SteamApps\common\ELEX\data\external\videos\
- Look for the files logo_pb.bik and logo_thqnordic.bik . Rename it by writing a 1 or another character in the name.
- Alternatively, you can delete the files but we don’t recommend it. Simply move them to your desktop.

Fix ELEX Does Not Save Game Progress or Load the Game

- Go to the game folder:\SteamApps\common\ELEX\data\external\videos\
- Now open the file mount_packed.xml, for example with Notepad ++
- Look for the line PhysicalPath = "$ (savedgames)/ELEX/SaveGames" and change it to PhysicalPath = "$ (localappdata)/ELEX/SaveGames".
- Now go to the hidden folder LOCALAPPDATA and then into the ELEX folder.
- Create a folder called SaveGames.
