OST List - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Howard Shore)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the prequel to highly anticipated Peter Jackson’s film "Lord of the Rings" (LOTR) trilogy based on the Novel by J. R. R. Tolkien.

Peter Jackson and Howard Shore are one of the industry's finest director/composer teams. Since The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring the two have formed a formidable team and Howard is now the voice of A Peter Jackson picture. For The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey the two really get to flex their creative muscles.

The film follows the story of a hobbit (Baggins played by Martin Freeman) who lives a peaceful life in the Shire. When the Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and a team of dwarves show up at his door, Baggins finds himself swept away on an unexpected journey. In the company of his new friends, Baggins faces the most gorgeous and the most terrible things Middle Earth has to offer.

The soundtrack (OST) CD of the film will be available to purchase on December 11, 2012 through WaterTower Music. A special edition of the OST, with four extra compositions ('A Very Respectable Hobbit', 'Erebor', 'The Dwarf Lords' and 'The Edge Of The Wild'),  is also being released on the same day.
