HBO: Boardwalk Empire Season 1 on DVD/Blu-ray in January 2012

Nelson Johnson’s crime story “Boardwalk Empire” comes alive again on January 10, 2012 as HBO Home Entertainment has announced the release date of Boardwalk Empire Season 1 on DVD and Blu-ray recently. The first season contains twelve episodes and the first episode was directed by Martin Scorsese, and Steve Buscemi played the lead role of Enoch "Nucky" Thompson.

The story follows Enoch "Nucky" who is the informal person in charge of Atlantic City. Although formally only the state treasurer, he in fact always keeps his eyes on every deal in the city and now that Prohibition has in progress. He’s the person in charge of the bootlegging trade in the area and his weird brother is the sheriff, so he generally has power over the cops as well. Though, his "boardwalk empire" is always in danger. His protégé Jimmy (played by Michael Pitt) is caught up in a break-in that finishes up becoming a massive chaos, and shortly Prohibition agent Van Allen (played by Michael Shannon) turns up to disclose what actually occurred. Now “Nucky” has to deal with all these things, while playing rough with Jimmy who is now hunted by the New York gang.

In some ways, Blu-ray and DVD are ideal to seize the story where you can let it to flow at your own pace. The DVD will be available for the price of $59.99 and the Blu-ray will be available for the price of $79.98, and both discs will contain extra materials as listed below:
