Jesse Peretz Our Idiot Brother on DVD and Blu-ray

Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Company will be releasing Jesse Peretz’s highly successful movie “Our Idiot Brother” to DVD and Blu-ray on November 29, 2011. The releases will contain extra bonus materials such as Audio commentary with director Jesse Peretz, "The Making of Our Idiot Brother" featurette and Deleted and extended scenes. The DVD will be available for the price of $29.98 while the Blu-ray will be available for the price of $39.99.

The film tells the story of Ned Rockliffe (played by Paul Rudd) who is working at a farmer's market together with his dog, and he is the only brother of three sisters Miranda Rockliffe (played by Elizabeth Banks), Natalie Rockliffe (played by Zooey Deschanel and Liz (played by Emily Mortimer). When Rockliffe goes to prison for trying to assist a fed-up police officer with a bit of weed, his rehabilitation forces him into the lives of his sisters. The plot places Rockliffe in the care of his sisters, where he continues to get involved in their lives and wreak havoc.

The film starts off slowly and takes it time to build up. The plot is not great, but takes a common story and does something flourishing with it. It's a touching film that works on the strengths of its characters and the feeling it draws from you on their behalf. Opinion will be sharply divided over this film, but there's plenty to like about it.
