Joel Edgerton may Star in The Man From UNCLE Film Adaptation

Joel Edgerton may join Bradley Cooper to play a starring role in WBs' movie adaptation of the 60s Spy Television Series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." Steven Soderbergh is onboard to direct the film, based on the script by Scott Z. Burns. And David Dobkin will produce it along with John Davis. The shooting will begin sometime in March 2012 for a late 2013 release.

The series aired from1964 to 1968 on NBC and quickly became one of the top shows on TV. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the TV series, and in fact it was before my time as well, U.N.C.L.E was a spy movie inspired by the political chaos of the Cold War, a time when spying was core stage as the world's strongest powers confronted each other. The TV Show was created by Metro Goldwyn Mayer with the collaboration of the producer of James Bond, Ian Fleming. It was innovative, sharing a world of spy agents working on behalf of powerful nations in seek for defense, control and or information.
