Singer and songwriter John Mayer is gearing up for the release of his long awaited fifth studio album Born and Raised. This record was delayed in making due to Mayer’s throat surgery but he has now fully recovered, and currently working on his next album. He recently teases his fans with a new single “Shadow Days” from the new album on his official Tumblr page. In this 1 minute teaser, Mayer continues to showoff his striking guitar chops, a more grown-up songwriting style, and a richer, deeper sound.
Mayer is a gifted artist, coming into the world with a momentous blues flair. He grabs Stevie Ray Vaughan like singing style, however manages to stray far enough to put together his own distinctive writing style. Though, lyrically he is not that remarkable, the way the music and words swimmingly connect undoubtedly structure for it. And to the extent that his first record, Room for Squares, was highly success, he didn't rest on his glory for the other releases. He moved on from the safe world of pop rock and produced songs more in the vain of his guitar idol a few of which he even had the chance to play with over the years.
