When NY-based Scissor Sisters (SS) emerged on the music scene with their self titled record eight years ago, they took the music world by storm. Apparently, they had something that the music business was lacking at the time. Their last two efforts were pretty much like their first album was, lighthearted, memorable and very much fun but they were a little more diverse with some ballads and even some rockers. They come up in an era where high-quality dance music is uncommon and the few outstanding groups can make a bigger name of themselves. SS are far from distinctive. They are not sampling but they are greatly influenced by seventies glam rock and disco. But their music works are appreciated by many listeners.
