In the early days of rhythm-based music games there was Dance Dance Revolution that featured some acrobatic dance moves. It was an entertaining and a great workout game, but wasn't really a dancing game.
Then Ubisoft introduced a new rhythm-based music video game series, JUST DANCE, to the world where you can dance to popular music from world renowned artists using "real dance move" that you will be able to practice at home and then surprise everyone on the dance floor. The first entry was somewhat frustrating that the precision of the controller was a bit off, but the dance moves were so much enjoyable. The JD2 introduced much better precision controller besides, it also brought in the concept of "duets", where players could dance choreographed routines simultaneously. The third entry of the JD franchise added some new features including 4-part dance routine, medals, awards and some excellent song selections. The fourth entry also added some wide range of song selection, fun duets, and wonderful group dances.
And so, we've all been waiting early for the next installment in the Just Dance series to come. During E3 2013 press conference, Ubisoft revealed the next entry in the JD franchise, “JUST DANCE 2014” which will release for the current console Wii, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360 and for the next generation consoles PS4 and Xbox one on October 08, 2013.
JD 2014 introduces online multiplayer mode “The World Dance Floor”, where players join a virtual team and measure themselves in different areas together. In addition to multiplayer leaderboards, JD 2014 also adds On-stage mode, where players can sing along with two stage dancers.
Once again, JD 2014 song lineup will feature wide range of musical styles from artists such as One Direction, Christina Aguilera, PSY, Nicki Minaj and more.
