Arctic Monkeys scored five consecutive UK No 1 albums with AM

The Arctic Monkeys just made UK Chart history with their most recent album "AM". The band entered the fifth consecutive UK bestseller list.

Released last week, the album sold about 157,000 copies. The only album in 2013 that sold so many units in its first week of release in Britain was "Random Access Memories" from Daft Punk (with 165 000 copies sold in May).

The week in general was good for artists with new releases in the UK charts.

"If You Wait" from London Grammar debuted in second position, while Goldfrapp was fourth with "Tales Of Us". The youth of The Strypes were in fifth place with "Snapshot" and The 1975 was at the top last week, fell to third place with their eponymous album.

Singles

The singles chart has fewer changes compared to last week with Katy Perry reign at the top for a second week with "Roar".

"Counting Stars" from One Republic was the runner-up and "Burn” in third place. Wake Me Up (Feat. Aloe Blacc)" by Avicii is in the fourth position and "Hold On, We're Going Home (Feat. Majid Jordan)" by Drake closed the top 5.
