Singer became the first female artist to have her five solo albums debuting at the top of U.S. charts.
As expected, Beyoncé debuted straight at the top of the Billboard album chart with her fifth studio album.
Launched last Friday (13), in a completely unexpected way, the album "BEYONCE" sold over 617,000 copies in the U.S. alone on the weekend. With this number, the wife of Jay Z beat her personal record, that belonged to the album "B'Day" and its 541,000 copies sold in its first week of release.
Besides this, the album was ranked top-selling release of the year by a female artist, and fourth place in the overall ranking behind only Justin Timberlake with his "The 20/20 Experience" (968,000), "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" by Eminem (792,000) and "Nothing Was the Same" by Drake (658 000).
ITunes also revealed that "BEYONCE" was the most sold album in one week, both the U.S. and the rest of the world platform, with a total of 828.773 copies during the last 15 days sales.
