Blur lead singer Damon Albarn confirms solo album next year

Damon Albarn will release his first solo album in 2014. The confirmation was made via a video posted on his Twitter page.

"I've been creating the album with Richard Russell (XL Recordings). Worked together on the album Bobby Womack and enjoyed, "said the lead singer of Blur.

"Making an album soil can be a disaster, so I thought if we make a record with my name, I should get someone to produce it real and take responsibility for me," added Albarn.

Despite being his first venture into a album of his own, the musician was very successful in his side projects The Good The Bad & The Queen and the world's first virtual band, the Gorillaz.
