Implode: Listen to Slayer’s first new song in five years

After five years of absence from new material, the Slayer has released a new song. "Implode", was first played in the surprise performance that the band played the opening of "Revolver Golden Gods" last night (23) in Los Angeles. Shortly after the studio version was posted on YouTube.

"Implode" is the first song the band released after the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman (1964-2013) and carries heavy and direct sound that has always characterized the quartet. The band’s 11th studio album, hopefully, comes out in 2014.

There have been no line-up changes since the Rock In Rio in Brazil: Kerry King and Tom Araya, the original lineup, plus drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt.
