UFC 5 Controls: Takedowns, Spinning, Uppercut, Clinch, Elbows

In this guide, we’ll show you how to perform (new controls) the basic takedown, spinning, uppercut, clinch and elbow attacks and moves in EA Sports UFC 5 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.


These attacks and moves in UFC 5 are executed differently than they were in the previous installment in the series, which could make it difficult for certain players to perform them. Thankfully, with our little guidance here, you should be able to performing them without any trouble.


Takedowns:

To perform Single Leg Takedown on PlayStation: hold down L2 + Square + X and on Xbox: LT + X + A

Power Single Takedown - the controls of this move is the same as the Single Leg Takedown, you hold the face buttons L2 and make sure to hold square + X that's how you pick somebody up and then you press another face button to slam them down to the ground. So on PlayStation hold down L2 + Square + X for the Power Takedown and on Xbox hold down LT + X + A

Double Leg Takedown - PlayStation: hold L2 + tap Triangle + Circle on Xbox: hold LT + Y + B 

Power Double Takedown is the same as the regular Double Leg Takedown. This time you're holding Triangle and Circle instead of just tapping it. So on PlayStation you're holding L2 + Triangle + Circle and on Xbox you're holding LT + Y + B 


Spinning Attacks: 

Back Spinning - PlayStation: hold S + Circle and on Xbox: hold A + B

Lead Spinning - PlayStation: hold L1 + S + Circle and on Xbox: hold LB + A + B

Now, once you spin you can press another face button to do an attack. For example: if you spin and then press square, a spinning elbow will come out. If you spin and then press triangle you’ll get Spinning Backfist and then press X you'll get a Roundhouse Kick.


Uppercut: 

To perform an Uppercut on PlayStation: hold R1 + Square or Triangle and on Xbox: hold RB + X or Y 


Clinch: 

To perform Clinch on PlayStation if you're in the Orthodox stance you just want to hold Square + X, if you're in Southpaw you want to hold Triangle + Circle and on Xbox: hold X + A for a clinch attempt in Orthodox or hold Y + B if you're in a Southpaw stance. 


Elbows: 

In order to perform Elbow attack while on the ground on PlayStation: you want to posture up hold R2 + Square or Triangle and on Xbox: RT + X or Y. (Now keep in mind once your posture up and throw an elbow, you'll automatically posture back down).
