KCD2: Invaders Quest Guide - Cuman Camp Location & Walkthrough

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 throws you into a world of intrigue and conflict, and the "Invaders" quest is a prime example. This quest, set in the early game after leaving the starting town and arriving in Troskowitz, will test your diplomacy, combat skills, and even your drinking prowess. This guide will walk you through each step, ensuring you navigate the Cuman camp and emerge victorious (or at least with a completed quest log).

The Spark of Conflict: A Meal Gone Wrong

Your journey begins at the Troskowitz inn. The innkeeper, Betty, is in a bind. Cumans have arrived, demanding food, but no one dares serve them. Being the helpful (or perhaps meddling) sort, you volunteer.

  1. KCD2, Invaders Quest, Betty with two Cumans
Take the Order: Talk to the Cumans to learn their culinary desires.
  2. Relay the Message: Report back to Betty with the Cumans' order.
  3. Gather the Grub: Head to the main dining area and collect the requested dishes.
  4. The Feast (and the Fiasco): Return to the Cumans. Time is of the essence here. If you're too slow, a brawl will erupt between the villagers and the Cumans. Even if you're prompt, tensions are high, and a fight is almost inevitable.

Choosing Your Side (or Not): The Battle of Troskowitz

When the fight breaks out (and it likely will), you'll face a choice: intervene on behalf of the villagers or stay neutral. While you can fight alongside the villagers, it's generally recommended not to get involved. This avoids unnecessary combat and keeps the quest on track.

A Drunken Pact: Vasko's Invitation

After the dust settles (or the blood spills), talk to Vasko, one of the Cumans. He'll invite you to their camp for a drink. This is your key to infiltrating their ranks.

A Double-Edged Deal: Vutek's Request

Before you head to the camp, speak with Vutek. He'll ask you to eliminate the "foreigners." Accepting this task doesn't necessarily mean you have to slaughter everyone, but it does add another layer to the quest.

Infiltrating the Cuman Camp: Location and Approach

The Cuman camp is located below Troskowitz. Look for a sloping path near a cart at the edge of the village. This path will lead you down to the camp.

The Cuman Games: Drinking, Romance, and Hidden Booze

  1. Drinking with Vasko: Talk to Vasko and join him in a drinking session. Choose your dialogue options carefully, maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  2. Jasak's Love Quest: Vasko will reveal that Jasak is smitten with a nomad woman. Agree to help him woo her. Follow Jasak to her location and engage in conversation, being supportive of Jasak's affections.
  3. The Hidden Stash: After the romantic interlude (or perhaps awkward encounter), you'll find yourself drinking again. Vasko will task you with finding some hidden alcohol. Jasak will accompany you, eventually collapsing from too much drink. Talk to the dog (yes, really!) and then search between two large rocks to find the alcohol.

The Morning After: Diplomacy or Destruction?

Return to the camp with the alcohol. More cutscenes and dialogue will ensue. The next day, you'll have the opportunity to convince the Cumans to leave Troskowitz in peace.

  • The Diplomatic Approach: If your reputation is high enough, you can persuade the Cumans to leave. This is the ideal outcome, fulfilling Vutek's request without bloodshed.
  • The Less Peaceful Option: If diplomacy fails, you might have to resort to other methods (combat) to resolve the situation.

The Herbalist's Dilemma: A Red Herring

During the quest, you might encounter a dialogue with an herbalist worker. Regardless of your choices here, they will not affect the outcome of the "Invaders" quest. Consider this a side conversation, not a crucial plot point.

Completing the Quest: Reporting Back

Once you've dealt with the Cumans (peacefully or otherwise), return to Troskowitz and report your findings to Vutek. This will officially conclude the "Invaders" quest.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Save Often: Kingdom Come Deliverance is known for its unforgiving nature. Save your game frequently, especially before crucial dialogues or combat encounters.
  • Reputation Matters: A good reputation can make diplomatic solutions much easier.
  • Observe and Learn: Pay attention to the dialogue and the environment. Clues and hints are often hidden in plain sight.
  • Don't Be Afraid to Experiment: Try different dialogue options to see how they affect the outcome.

Beyond "Invaders": Other Quests and Exploration

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a rich and immersive world. Once you've tackled the "Invaders" quest, be sure to explore Troskowitz and its surroundings. There are plenty of other quests to discover, secrets to uncover, and adventures to embark on. Don't be afraid to stray from the beaten path and forge your own destiny in the Kingdom of Bohemia.
