Updated May 31 (patch 1.02)
Elden Ring: Nightreign is built for co-op, but daring Tarnished can still brave it alone. Enemy health is scaled for solo players, but with no revives, relentless foes, and harsh permadeath rules, it's a punishing experience.
This guide breaks down the best solo classes, essential survival strategies, and the tools you’ll need to defeat the Nightlords—no teammates required.

-
Go to Roundtable Hold and interact with the central table.
-
Matchmaking Settings → Expedition Type → Single Player.

🆕 Update 1.02 – Automatic Revival for Solo Runs
Patch 1.02 adds a crucial solo-friendly feature: automatic revival upon defeat (once per expedition). This gives solo Tarnished a second chance—no item required.
• ✅ Triggers automatically when you die during a solo run
• ✅ Revives you on the spot with 50% HP
• ⚠️ Works only once per expedition—no stacking with Wending Grace
Tip: You can still buy Wending Grace for an additional revive, giving solo players up to two total chances per run. Use them wisely against Nightlords!
🧾 Is Solo Play Worth It?
Pros:
✔️ Ultimate challenge for Souls veterans
✔️ No dependence on teammates
✔️ Enemy HP is reduced
Cons:
❌ No revives
❌ Bosses often favor team strategies
❌ Slower progress due to permadeath
Verdict:
Solo mode is viable, but punishing. It’s perfect for skilled players craving high-stakes tension and tactical mastery.
