EA has finally revealed a release date for their highly anticipated next effort, FIFA 18. In addition, they also released a teaser trailer. The game will bring some innovations - especially in the Ultimate Team and introduce the second season for the story mode The Journey.

FIFA 18 will be released on 29 September 2017.

This is "Game Engine Footage". The centerpiece is Cristiano Ronaldo. He will be the new cover star of FIFA 18:

In the small print at the end of the trailer is the Frostbite engine and the "The Journey: Hunter Returns" mode (the next season of the story mode) will only be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Not all features are available on all platforms.

Important: At the end of the teaser trailer comes the logo for PlayStation 4 Pro. This means that there is now a marketing deal between EA and Sony. In recent years, there has been such a deal between EA and Microsoft with the Xbox. The Leak was confirmed a few days ago.

This marketing deal has brought the legend cards to the Xbox players in recent years. In FIFA 18 the legends are expected to be replaced: these are now called "Icons". Icons will be available on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4.

A legend (icon) is already known: Ronaldo (the Brazilian Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima). This is from a special edition of FIFA 18:

There will be different editions for pre-ordering:

A standard edition: Includes up to 5 Jumbo Premium Gold FUT sets, a Cristiano Ronaldo as a lending player and 8 special FUT kits.

A Ronaldo edition: with pre-order, there are 3 days early access, up to 20 Jumbo Premium Gold FUT sets, a Cristiano Ronaldo as a sample and 8 special FUT jerseys.

As well as an "Icon-Edition": pre-ordere will get 3 days early access, up to 40 Jumbo Premium Gold FUT sets, a Ronaldo player, a Cristiano Ronaldo player, TDW players' sets and 8 special FUT kits. Here is an overview of all contents of the Icon-Edition:

These editions are only available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. For PS3 and Xbox360, there is a legacy edition.
