Lawless Film Coming to DVD/BD with Bonus Features - review

Lawless is a gangster film based on Matt Bondurant’s best selling novel “The Wettest County in the World” The film is directed by John Hillcoat and it stars Shia Labeouf as Jack Bondurant, Tom Hardy as Forrest Bondurant, Jason Clarke as Howard Bondurant and Mia Wasikowska as Bertha Minnix.

The film tells a story that's done in a remarkable way that we don't normally get to see or hear about. It's based on Matt’s grandfather, two of his relatives and real events from that time, but it also comprises a lot of fiction from the author.

In the movie, the Bondurant brothers (Jack Bondurant, Forrest Bondurant and Howard Bondurant) selling illicit liquor during the prohibition time in Virginia. Because of their illegal business and their violent reputations, they face threats from various people that comprise rival gangsters and a team of corrupt police officers who want a piece of the action. The brothers must sift through this risky terrain while helping each other.

The Weinstein Company will release Lawless on DVD and Blu-ray on November 27, 2012. The DVD will be available for the price of $ 29.98 (SRP) while Blu-ray will run at $39.99 and both discs will contain the following bonus features:
