Skullgirls Encore is the newest entry in the fighting game Skullgirls, released in 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and PC in 2013. For users of the console Microsoft original Skullgirls will update automatically, but players from Sony will have to update it manually.
The whole problem occurred because the developer of the game, the Reverge Labs, had to change the company who published the title, forcing a re-launch. Skullgirls was originally published by Autumn Games, but a series of processes froze the funds of the company. The game will then be reissued by Lab Zero Games.
The company explained that everyone who bought the PlayStation 3 version of Skullgirls Skullgirls Encore can download for free, providing this little tutorial on how to download the game:
Step 1: Check your PSN messages on your PlayStation 3.
Step 2: Look for a message from Skullgirls with a link to a free voucher Skullgirls Encore.
Step 3: Click the link in the message, which will redeem the voucher and take it to the PlayStation Store to download Skullgirls Encore.
Step 4: Download the DLCs also Squigly Unlock Character and Character Color Bundle DLC, both free for a limited time.
Step 5: After the download is completed, delete the old version of Skullgirls, since it will not receive more support.
Step 6: Enjoy!
Compared with the original Skullgirls, Encore brings several improvements to balance the fights, online mode, and bring a faster gameplay. The title will still receive 5 characters through DLC in 2014, totally free.
