"Smokey & Friends'" is the title of the album that Smokey Robinson will launch on June 19th. The album features several of the legendary Motown singing star’s classics together with tracks from Elton John, Cee Lo Green, Steven Tyler, John Legend and James Taylor. Originally launched in 1979, the song gave new impetus to the commercial career of Smokey.
The track was reached number four on the Billboard and was his first solo single to enter the American top 10 - in the 60s / early 70s he recorded alongside the Miracles.
The song also had success with Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis that the re-recorded for the track "Duets" ("Come Stay With Me" - 2000).
