Far Cry 5: Fix Lags, Not Starting, Bugs and Errors

Far Cry 5 has finally been released on PC and major consoles. However, Some PC players have reported that they have been experiencing occasional bug issues and errors preventing them from playing FC5. So far, the errors are limited, but at least there are fixes. We've compiled the most common FC5 problems and offer you some fixes that will hopefully get you back to Hope County.

The first step is to verify your PC specs and make sure that they are above the minimum requirements to run Far Cry 5:

Operating System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400 (3.1 GHz), AMD FX-6300 (3.5 GHz) or similar
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2GB VRAM), AMD R9 270 (2GB VRAM) or similar
RAM: 8 GB

The next step is to make sure that all your drivers are up to date. Note that most common problems will be fixed patches, so you probably will not be bothered with the bugs forever.

Fix FC 5 Crashes at the beginning: This error occurs almost exclusively with Steam players. Try to open the .exe file as an admin. It can also help to play in window mode instead of full screen. Also occasionally clear the Uplay Cache to make space for the launch again.

Poor Graphics Performance: Although you have a good graphics card, the textures appear blurred. This is not due to your settings, but to the settings of the game. Play around the FPS a bit and the in-game settings to make it less bad.

Multiple Monitors: You may experience rendering errors when playing with two or more monitors. There is still no fix for this issue. It's best not to use max settings, so that at least the basic game works.

FC5 Crashes after cut-scenes: If you are impatient and want to keep on fighting, you should still keep in check, because skipping cutscenes can sometimes cause the game to crash.

Connect Controller on PC: If you play on the PC, but want to connect a controller, it can happen that this is not recognized by the game. Go to the Steam Controller settings and disable all existing controllers. Then you close Steam and launch the game via Uplay. Here the controller should be recognized.

Unable to Connect to Uplay: First try restarting your router. Mostly there is a problem with the internet connection. Otherwise, you have to be patient and try again after a while.

Bookworm-9F336D1: This error message occurs in Arcade mode while you want to download a map. Unfortunately, there is no solid fix for this. You need to try several times, until it works.

Bookworm-2CEA2BDC: In Arcade, this error code will appear if you lose the connection to the host. Unfortunately only a restart and re-entry may helps here.

Trapper-F5DC8ED: If you skipped the cutscene of the liberating in Jacobs region, the game stops and this error message appears.

Trapper-1C07B734: You receive this error message during the quest Special Delivery for which there is also a trophy. Different mechanics have an influence on the crash: you destroy a car with explosives, you die, as well as an ally or the time runs out. Avoid these things and the crash should not occur.
