The newest strategic role-playing game from Vanillaware, Unicorn Overlord, surprised everyone with its distinctive gameplay and endearing graphics. However, it can be very easy to get lost in the game, which is why I've prepared some useful tips about shop, hiring units and mercenaries to make your experience easier.
Once you unlock each city and fort in Unicorn Overlord, be sure to check each one independently because they are all unique. It can be very simple to just skip out on them and forget to check the shops, especially if you aren't encountering any challenging fights right away. However, it's important to remember that each town you unlock will have at least one special item at their armor that you can buy, and most of them are also quite powerful for the stage of the game where you are at. This is exactly where the advantages of using plunder in every encounter and opportunity truly shine through because you will accumulate so much wealth that purchasing all the unique and more powerful armor pieces won't be a problem, making you far stronger than you otherwise would be. So, be sure to check out all the unique items.
Similarly, once you unlock the ability to hire mercenaries from Forts at Renown Rank D. you may be disappointed at first that you can only select a small number of mercenaries on the higher screen, even though the ones you really like are there for you to recruit and build your preferred Army combinations or the ones you've read about online.
So make sure to check every fourth in each Zone, as the mercenaries you can recruit vary depending on the region you are in. You will frequently be able to hire units that are unlocked or well-known for that particular area.
