1. How to Enter Raven Rock and Breach the Perimeter

The first stage of Raven Rock takes place outside the main bunker entrance.

Follow the surface road toward the facility's perimeter checkpoint and look for the outer security gate and guard house.

Finding the Wire Cutters

The Wire Cutters can be useful for opening the locked chain-link perimeter gate.

In this run, they were found inside the exterior checkpoint guard house, on a desk/workbench.

Item location: Observed location in this run; spawns may vary across matches.

Use the Wire Cutters on the chain lock at the perimeter gate to enter the motor pool area.

⚠️ Important: Do not treat the Wire Cutters' observed location as a guaranteed universal spawn. If the item isn't where expected, search the surrounding checkpoint and perimeter areas.

Once through the perimeter, continue across the motor pool and follow the main route into the reinforced concrete bunker entrance.

2. How to Open the B1 Blast Door

Eventually, the route leads to the massive B1 Blast Door.

The door initially appears to be unusable because its power supply is disabled. Simply trying to interact with the door won't solve the problem.

How to Restore Power

  1. Stand facing the sealed B1 Blast Door.
  2. Look for the nearby B1 Transformer Shed/Maintenance Room.
  3. Enter the room beside the blast door.
  4. Locate the wall-mounted electrical breaker panel.
  5. Activate Switch #3.
  6. Return to the blast door.

The restored electrical supply powers the blast door mechanism and allows your squad to continue into the facility.

Objective: RESTORE POWER TO MAIN BLAST DOOR
πŸ’‘ B1 Blast Door Tip: Don't waste time repeatedly interacting with the door itself. If the B1 entrance won't open, check the nearby transformer room first. The power switch is the actual progression blocker.

3. Where to Find the Red Keycard

After passing through the B1 Blast Door, continue into Sector A.

The next major progression blocker is a security door requiring the Red Keycard.

Red Keycard Location

In this run, the Red Keycard was found in the Sector A administrative/security area, on a desk near the entry section.

⚠️ Red Keycard: Observed location in this run; spawns may vary across matches.

If you don't find it immediately, search the surrounding:

  • Administrative desks
  • Office cubicles
  • Security desks
  • Shelves
  • Nearby work areas

The important point is to search the entire Sector A area rather than relying on one specific desk location.

Using the Red Keycard

Once you've obtained the card, take it to the appropriate security reader and swipe it to unlock the next section.

Objective: SECURE SECTOR A ACCESS

This opens the route toward Sector B Command & Control.

⬆ Back to Table of Contents

4. How to Override the Facility Lockdown

Once Sector A access has been secured, continue toward the Sector B Command & Control area.

The facility lockdown prevents progression toward the lower maintenance and substation areas.

Override Procedure

Find the main command terminal inside Sector B and interact with it.

Select:

OVERRIDE FACILITY LOCKDOWN

The terminal clears the facility lockdown and opens the security route toward the lower sections of Raven Rock.

Do You Need an Officer's Key?

No. The main progression route does not require an Officer's Key. The facility lockdown can be overridden through the Sector B command terminal.

Once the lockdown is cleared, continue downward toward the subterranean Sector C maintenance and substation areas.

5. Where to Find the Industrial Fuses

The next major blocker is the Substation Generator.

Before the generator can be started, you need two Industrial Fuses.

Objective: REPAIR SUBSTATION POWER CIRCUIT

The fuses are located in the Sector C maintenance and utility areas.

Industrial Fuse #1

In this run, the first Industrial Fuse was found inside a supply container/shelf area in the upper Sector C maintenance section.

Industrial Fuse #2

The second fuse was found farther into the lower Sector C utility area, near the flooded passage and surrounding maintenance supplies.

⚠️ Industrial Fuse locations: These are observed locations from one run; spawns may vary across matches.

If you don't find the fuses in exactly those locations, search:

  • Maintenance rooms
  • Supply crates
  • Storage shelves
  • Utility corridors
  • Workshop areas
  • Lower passageways

Installing the Fuses

Once both Industrial Fuses have been collected, return to the Substation Generator. Insert both fuses into the empty sockets on the generator's power panel.

You need both fuses before the generator can be activated.

6. How to Start the Substation Generator

After both Industrial Fuses have been installed, the generator becomes ready to start.

Objective: START SUBSTATION GENERATOR

Interact with the generator starter mechanism and pull the starter cord.

⚠️ Generator Horde Warning
Starting the Substation Generator creates a major noise event that attracts a large zombie attack. This is one of the most important moments to prepare for in Raven Rock.

Before Starting the Generator

Make sure your squad:

  • Reloads all firearms.
  • Heals wounded players.
  • Has enough ammunition.
  • Keeps melee weapons ready.
  • Groups together instead of spreading across multiple rooms.
  • Establishes defensible choke points.
  • Has explosives available for emergency crowd control.

The generator area and surrounding corridors provide limited space, making it easy for runners to overwhelm an isolated player.

Best Generator Strategy

Don't immediately rush away after starting the generator. Instead, use the surrounding doorways and narrow corridors to funnel zombies toward your squad.

Once the immediate pressure is manageable, continue toward the newly powered lower sections and Sector D Silo.

7. How to Find and Carry the Heavy Radio Transponder

After restoring power, continue deeper into Raven Rock toward Sector D Silo.

The route descends through the large subterranean silo area, including spiral walkways leading toward Level -2.

Eventually, you'll find the Heavy Radio Transponder.

Objective: TRANSPORT RADIO TRANSPONDER TO CARGO LIFT

The transponder is a heavy objective item that must be physically carried to the Cargo Lift.

Heavy Radio Transponder Mechanics

Carrying the transponder changes how your character moves and fights.

  • You Cannot Use Your Normal Firearms — The transponder occupies both hands, meaning your primary firearm is stowed while carrying it. You cannot aim or fire your normal weapons while holding the objective item.
  • Sprinting Is Disabled — The heavy carry also prevents sprinting. This makes the transponder carrier considerably more vulnerable to runners and other fast zombies.
  • You Can Shove/Kick — The carrier isn't completely defenseless. You can perform the available defensive shove/kick action while holding the transponder to create some space against nearby zombies.
  • You Can Drop the Transponder — If the squad is overwhelmed, drop the transponder. Dropping it allows the carrier to immediately return to their firearms and fight normally. Once the threat has been cleared, pick the transponder back up and continue.

Best Transponder Strategy

Don't send the carrier through Raven Rock alone.

A better approach is:

  1. Assign one player as the transponder carrier.
  2. Have teammates clear the route ahead.
  3. Keep another player behind the carrier.
  4. Check corners before the carrier enters narrow corridors.
  5. Drop the transponder if the carrier becomes surrounded.
  6. Clear the immediate threat before continuing.

The transponder doesn't need to be carried quickly—it needs to be carried safely.

8. How to Complete the Cargo Lift Extraction

The final objective takes place at Raven Rock's large subterranean Cargo/Freight Elevator.

This is not a helicopter extraction.

Bring the Heavy Radio Transponder to the Cargo Lift platform and place it into the designated receiver.

Objective: SURVIVE UNTIL CARGO LIFT EXTRACTION

How to Activate the Cargo Lift

  1. Carry the Heavy Radio Transponder onto the Cargo Lift platform.
  2. Place it into the receiver/dock.
  3. Find the nearby Cargo Lift control terminal.
  4. Activate the elevator.
  5. Prepare for the extraction holdout.

Once activated, the HUD displays a 4:00 countdown.

⚠️ The Cargo Lift Holdout Lasts 4 Minutes
The team must survive until the Cargo Lift completes its extraction cycle. This is the final major combat sequence of the map.

Where Should You Defend?

The best approach is to control the access routes leading onto the elevator rather than chasing zombies into surrounding areas.

Use:

  • Narrow ramps as choke points.
  • Elevator entrances as defensive lines.
  • Elevated positions when available.
  • Shotguns for close-range pressure.
  • Explosives when the horde becomes concentrated.

Save Your Explosives

Don't waste every grenade immediately after activating the elevator. Try to preserve some crowd-control equipment for the final portion of the four-minute holdout, when the pressure can become much harder to manage.

Stay Together

The biggest mistake during extraction is splitting up. If one player leaves the Cargo Lift to chase zombies, they can become isolated from the rest of the squad. Defend the extraction point instead.

When the countdown reaches zero, the Cargo Lift completes its extraction sequence and the surviving Responders can escape the facility.

Beginner Mistakes and Common Traps

1. Repeatedly Trying the B1 Blast Door

If the blast door won't open, don't assume it's bugged.

Solution: Find the nearby Transformer Shed and activate the required breaker.

2. Searching Only One Desk for the Red Keycard

The Red Keycard location shown in this guide should not be treated as a guaranteed static spawn.

Solution: Search the wider Sector A administrative and security area. Remember: Observed location in this run; spawns may vary across matches.

3. Looking for Only One Industrial Fuse

The generator requires two Industrial Fuses.

Solution: Search the Sector C maintenance and utility areas until both have been recovered.

4. Starting the Generator Without Preparing

The generator creates a major zombie attack.

Solution: Reload, heal, regroup, and establish defensive positions before starting it.

5. Carrying the Transponder Alone

The carrier can't sprint or use normal firearms.

Solution: Assign squadmates to escort the carrier and clear the route.

6. Refusing to Drop the Transponder

Trying to walk through a horde while carrying the objective item can get the entire squad into trouble.

Solution: Drop the transponder, switch back to your weapon, clear the immediate threat, and pick it up again.

7. Searching for a Helicopter

Raven Rock does not use an air extraction.

Solution: The final extraction is handled by the Cargo/Freight Elevator deep inside the facility.

Final Tips for Clearing Raven Rock

Raven Rock becomes much easier once your squad treats each objective as a preparation phase rather than rushing forward.

Before moving deeper into the facility:

  • Find the required access item.
  • Keep the squad together.
  • Prepare for the next horde trigger.
  • Don't split up unnecessarily.
  • Assign a player to carry heavy objective items.
  • Save explosives for dangerous holdouts.
