Let Me In – American Remake of the Swedish Film

`Let Me In' is a remake of the Swedish flick `Let The Right One In' which is based on the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I must say that I haven't read the book or seen the original movie so my expectations were open.

The movie is about a relationship between a lonely young boy and a beautiful young girl. The boy named Owen played by Kodi Smit-McPhee is a bullied 12 year-old boy, who is abandoned by his break up parents, and he has very little hope of anything interesting happening in his life. A girl called Abby played by Chloe Grace Moretz shifted in neighboring house with her father played by Richard Jenkens. As him and Owen just sees her at night. Abby has secrets that she wanted to keep to herself. As the tale open up, Abby says to Owen her clandestine and pretty much Owen discovers that Abby is a vampire. The 2 are friends, and Abby says to Owen that he must face up to the bullies. Abby and Owen have a great friendship.

Let Me In, movie, poster, Chloe Grace Moretz, Kodi Smit-McPhee Chloe Moretz is more remarkable here than in her breakout role as Hit-Girl in Kick-As. She steals whatever movie she is in. She is such a fantastic actress, and has a bright career a head of her. The boy who plays Owen does a great job too, and they both share some great chemistry here. This film offers superb cinematography as well thought out the script and great soundtrack composed by Michael Giacchino is one of the best I have ever heard.

If you’re a horror movie fan then this is not your typical horror film. It is a love story mixed in with the gory scenes. Also you are actually sympathetic to the killer who happens to be the young girl. This is what makes this story so unique. Not only are you hoping for the killer to get away you are also feeling sympathy for her.

Overall, if you haven't seen it before and haven't seen the Swedish original, I recommend "Let Me In".
