Underworld 4 DVD/Bluray get lots of bonus features, review

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Underworld: Awakening also known as Underworld on DVD, Bluray, and Bluray 3D on May 08, 2012 and each releases will be packed full of fantastic bonus features such as Filmmakers' Commentary, Selene Rises, Resuming the Action and more.

Underworld: Awakening is the fourth installment in the Underworld film franchise, directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein. The film stars Kate Beckinsale and lots of other well-known actors, including Sandrine Holt, India Eisley, Theo James, Michael Ealy and Charles Dance.

Underworld 4: picks up where the third installment left off. After Selene (played by Kate Beckinsale) breaks away from the custody, she enters into a place where humans have uncovered the survival of both the Vampire and the Lycans. They are now on a task to get rid of both and also find a treatment for what they believe an infection. Selene must fight for her survival and get to the bottom of what may become a full blown conspiracy.

The film is not as visually notable as previous installments in the franchise, maybe because the tone has been changed to be more in proportion to science fiction films such as the Resident Evil. Having mentioned that, many of the franchise stylistic touches persevere. Like Selene’s trademark black leather suit, and a pistol in each hand; she will often shoot at things, mostly Lycans. When a pistol isn’t within reach, she will use her knife and her excellent speed to sprint through lines of inhabitants, cutting them to death. Kate Beckinsale did another excellent job here; she has a great way of passing on emotion with very modest expressions and tones.

The Bluray Disc will be released in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio and mixed in 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Each edition of the film will also contain an UV cloud streaming digital copy of the film.
