Open Road Films has released some new images from the upcoming Andrew Niccol- scripted and directed adaptation of Stephenie Meye’s bestselling novel The Host. With the stills, fans get some new looks at Saoirse Ronan as the story’s lead character Melanie Stryder/Wanderer as well as Max Irons as Jared Howe.
The Host is Meyer's first venture into the adult world, a futuristic story set on Earth after an alien invasion. Wanderer is the alien who has been entered into Stryder’s body. And while Wanderer is excited to see earth for the first time, it's with great sadness that she realizes Stryder has not evacuated the body. Plagued by Stryder’s reminiscences and her concern to find her family, who are hidden in the desert, Wanderer also wants to see these people--particularly Jared, the love of Stryder's life. Jointly, they are heading into the desert to find them.
The Host comes to theaters on March 29, 2013.
