The Cabin in the Woods Heading Home on DVD / Bluray

For several years now, horror buffs and fans of Joss Whedon have spoken of the well-known horror flick, The Cabin in the Woods. After a long delay, it was finally released in theaters in April.

The Cabin in the Woods is one of the most hilarious, bloody and original horror flicks I have seen lately. It follows five friends, Curt Vaughan (Chris Hemsworth), Jules Louden (Anna Hutchison), Holden McCrea (Jesse Williams), Marty Mikalski (Fran Kranz) and Dana Polk (Kristen Connolly). They decided to go to an isolated cabin in the woods for a weekend. Everything heads out well as they would have expected, but that does not last long once weird things start to occur. Now, they find themselves in a battle for their lives as they expect to get away the danger of the woods and return home safely.

It is quite a breath of fresh air although they are using a lot of stuff that have been used in horror films on many times. There's a plenty of blood and gore and you even have some of those predictable horror movie characters included in it. The distinction with this movie is that it takes many of those things and adds quite a few unique and/or atypical aspects to it as a whole. It cracks most horror movies you have ever appreciated, stitches them all back together lovingly, and what you get is one heck of an enjoyable flick.
