Universal Studios will release it’s highly successful fantasy film “Snow White and the Huntsman” on home video on September 11, 2012. The DVD will cost you $29.98 (MSRP) while the Blu-ray disc will run at $34.98 (MSRP)
Snow White and The Huntsman follows the story of Snow White (played by Kristen Stewart), and her wicked step mother Ravenna (played by Charlize Theron) who will do anything to keep her power. When she learns that Snow White is destined to take over her power, she sends a huntsman (played by Chris Hemsworth) to capture her and prevent it from happening. The hunter however has his own plans once he comes to realize who she is and why she is so significant.
The cast is exceptionally well. Charlize Theron does appear to over do it on occasion, but is mostly just really obsessive about her aspirations. Chris Hemsworth delivers a great performance as The Hunstman is not a totally twist on the characters we are familiar to seeing him plays, but provides just enough to make it seems a bit different. The dwarves perhaps what save the whole movie though. They are both technically handy and offer sufficient comic relief to make the movie way better than it should be.
It was made with an estimated budget of $170 million and has earned internationally over $380 million so far. From North America itself the film has earned over $150 million and has ranked number 1 in 30 countries.
