Sony Pictures is currently working to adapt their widely popular 1995 PlayStation 2 video game “Shadow Of The Colossus (SoTC)” into a feature film, with Josh Trank (Chronicle). He will direct the adaptation based on a script by Seth Lochhead, best known for his work on Joe Wright action film Hanna. The project has been in the works since 2009 and the makers were using a screenplay written by Justin Marks, however now it appears they plan on going in another direction.
There is no official release date for the film, though it may be released sometime in late 2014 - early 2015.
In the game, you play as Wander, a person who has taken his dead lover's sacrificed corpse countless miles to a very old and secret land in hopes that a mystifying entity believed to control the spirits of the dead, can bring her back to life. The spirit instructs you to travel the land in search of sixteen formidable colossi which you must crush in order to save her.
