NBC confirms Revolution Season 2 (22-episode) for next year

Good news for fans of NBC’s Eric Kripke created Post-apocalyptic TV drama Revolution has been renewed for season two with twenty two new episodes to air in 2014. The show may not be as strong at present as it was when it started, however it’s still a remarkable drama.

It is a reasonably well-written dystopian show based on the mysterious power outage all over the world. I have a fondness for such stories, so I was interested in this drama from the beginning. So far, I have been thrilled with the direction the drama has taken with the introduction of new characters and the removal of others. I do like the reality of the lack of high-tech arms, and the revisit to preindustrial society. While some dystopian writers have visualized such a society as some kind of paradise, Kripke’s story tells us that such life will be short, cruel and crammed with hard work, and those without the necessary skills to survive in such world are going to die quickly.

Revolution stars Billy Burke as Miles Matheson,Tracy Spiridakos as Charlie Matheson and Elizabeth Mitchell as Rachel Matheson among others. Season 1 is currently airing Mondays at 10:00 pm (ET) on NBC.
