RED 3 Screenplay is currently in Development

The second installment of the RED series has yet to hit theaters, but Summit Entertainment is already gearing up for the third installment. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio has once again hired John and Erich Hoeber, the screenwriters of the first two films, to write the screenplay for RED 3. If their script is approved then the production could begin as early as January next year. There's no word yet on RED 3 casting, but it is expected that Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren and Brian Cox will return to reprise their respective roles.

It's hard to produce a good action flick. It's even harder to produce a good comedy. And it's harder still to tell a tale that will not only amuse viewers, but also keep them engaged. Not only does the first film succeed all the above, but it also manages to stay true to the graphic Novel and Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’ s original vision. It brings a fair share of comic book violence, and yet it never turns out to be overpowering, so we can concurrently revel in the stunts and bangs and pay attention to the storyline. It's great to see that even comics to movies can be produced to appeal to everyone and not simply exist in a closed universe.
