Remastered Version of The Wizard of OZ hits IMAX theaters in September

After Jurassic Park, Titanic and Star Wars - Episode I, now it's the turn of The Wizard of Oz to win a remastered version in IMAX 3D, according to USA Today.

The launch aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the release of the classic film. Warner announced that the movie will be shown in IMAX theaters for one week, from September 20, 2013

The president of IMAX Entertainment said that the sound and clarity are excellent, "but it is the color that stands out. What they achieved was really astonishing; no doubt that the audience will feel when they see the remastered version of the film for the first time."

In addition to the theatrical release, the studio will also release a Box with five discs: Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, and ultraviolet versions of the film, plus a new documentary about the film.
