Lady Gaga 'ARTPOP' tops the U.S. album chart for the second time

Lady Gaga tops the U.S. album chart for the second time. Her new album "artpop"sold 258,000 copies in its first week of release and secured the position for the singer.

With the conquest, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" of Eminem which topped the Billboard charts last week, is now dropped to second position.

The Top 5 this week had more of a compilation series "Now" - the volume 48 and "Duck the Halls: The Robertson Family Christmas", the Christmas album done by the cast of the reality show "Duck Dynasty (or" The Dos Reis Ducks. ") The fifth position went to Katy Perry and her "PRISM".

The Beatles’ newest compilation with recordings that the band made for the BBC, was in seventh place. This was their 31st album to enter the top 10.

Back to Gaga, her “artpop” was the third biggest selling album by a female artist in 2013 in its release week. Despite good sales, "artpop" stood behind the aforementioned "PRISM" (with 286 000 copies) and "Bangerz" by Miley Cyrus (270 000). The three were also the only women to sell over 150 thousand copies in their first week of release in the U.S. this year.
