Cee Lo Green reveals permanent departure from The Voice (U.S.)

In an interview with Elle DeGeneres on Tuesday (18), Cee Lo Green surprised The Voice (U.S.) fans with the announcement of his departure from the program.

The musician, who will be touring with Lionel Richie, said he intends to maintain his relationship with the NBC, which broadcasts the talent show, and even has projects in development with the channel.

"I will not be back, guys," said Cee Lo to the audience of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I don’t want to wear out my welcome there”. Has many other things I want to do and I didn’t release an album in four years" added the singer.

The voice of "Forget You" was the mentor of The Voice (U.S.) in the first three seasons and returned for the fifth season, after a pause in which he was replaced by Usher. The new edition of the program, which will again with Usher and Shakira, in place of Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, will premiere next Monday (24).
