Of course, the text may contain spoilers of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Breaking new Hyrule Field

One of the highlights of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the open field of Hyrule (Hyrule Field) where you could ride with his horse Epona.

However, following The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, there was nothing like that. To address the desire of fans, Twilight Princess Hyrule Field again brought a vast, sometimes a little empty, but with animated fighting on horseback.

Transformation into a wolf

By visiting the Twilight Realm (Kingdom of Twilight) for the first time, the player undergoes a transformation and takes the form of a wolf. Something similar happened in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but this hero turned a rabbit. Trapped in this hostile world and in its new form, players find themselves hopeless, until rescued by a small creature.

Encounter with Midna

In this moment of despair that the players are rescued by Midna, a character who becomes their companion for the rest of the adventure. In several chapters of the series The Legend of Zelda for supporting the user to assist in their progress and are often lampooned as the fairy Navi and his "Hey! Listen! ". However, Midna shook the help of notions like a skittish character often selfish and even made fun of Link, which became a great favorite among fans.

The soul of an ancient hero (Hero's Shade)

In several gaming sites you can find stones in which resides the soul of an "old hero", which presents himself as an armored skeleton willing to teach his techniques to Link. Many fans of the series however realized detail and traced theories that they would be confirmed in the official book "Hyrule Historia". The spirit of this hero is actually the protagonist Link from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

My control is broken? Ghoul / Rat

One of the moments that virtually every player in the game is spent in the desert temple, Arbiter's Grounds. In a specific room, the hero Link starts walking in a very strange way, as if too heavy and users think it is a problem of the game or its controls. Just using the keen senses of the wolf form you can see the invisible enemies that are hindering their movement.

Put on the Iron Boots again

An item that has become recurrent in the series The Legend of Zelda are the famous Iron Boots, use for many different purposes, such as leaving heavier Link. In Twilight Princess they come at a crucial time, when the game is still a bit too much like Ocarina of Time. The way the boots are use in conjunction with giant magnets surprises and is just one of many new features that the game begins to present to tinker with its traditional formula.

Spinner

The Twilight Princess updates continue to emerge in the course of the game, to provide fans a unique item called Spinner, which looks like a big top. It is possible to climb it to get around with greater ease in certain land and to enjoy trails in walls. The item was so popular that it even returned in Hyrule Warriors for Nintendo Wii U.

The bizarreness of Snowpeak Ruins

One of the "dungeons" more advanced game, Snowpeak Ruins is probably the most bizarre dungeon been exhibited in the series. This is because it is actually a mansion in which lives a double Yetis (abominable snow men), called Yeto and Yeta. Despite following all the traditional rules of The Legend of Zelda dungeons, the hero Link has just engaged in a quest to make a special soup until he can access the item he wanted.

Use the Wii Remote for the first time

One of the factors that popularized The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is that its release was simultaneously the old GameCube and then current Nintendo Wii, which has led many people to buy the title with the console. Wii Sports showed what the motion control Wii Remote could do on new games, but it was Twilight Princess that showed like normal games could be fun with wrist movements that turned sword strokes and a crosshair allowing point directly at the screen.

The final battle

The final confrontation between the forces of good and evil in The Legend of Zelda is always striking, since the first time in 3D with Ocarina of Time even in its most cartoonize version of The Wind Waker. In Twilight Princess this battle takes on a new scale, where Ganondorf looks even more imposing and monstrous than ever, both in his human form as transformed into giant pig.
