The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild gets a new DLC called The Master Trials and brings you a special master mode. If you have already played the previous title of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this mode will be known to you as a hero mode. This is an increased difficulty level, so you can prove your skills with Link even more.
With the new DLC you’ll get a separate master for the master mode. So you can switch between your games and you don’t have to delete all your achievements if you want to face new challenges.
In addition to the additional game for The Master Trails, there are of course still more news and changes in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Even without the greater challenge of increased difficulty, this version is already one of the most difficult games in the Zelda series.
New Features in Master Mode
The changes refer in part to the behavior of the opponents and their abilities. Furthermore, some of Link's abilities are made more difficult, which is why you need to be even more careful. The Master Trails DLC brings you the following new features:
Better Equipped enemies: This will make you more difficult to take the enemies.
Enemies with Health Regeneration: Enemies can slowly regenerate their health, which means you cannot go so much on the defensive. This is especially the case with bosses.
Enemy Level (Color Class): You can recognize the difficulty level of enemies by their color variation. In the beginning you see many red opponents and later blue etc. In the DLC, all levels of the opponents are increased by one. In this way you can even encounter some golden enemies.
Octorok Balloons: In the new DLC, Octorok Balloons can also be your enemies and you often encounter them. They attack you and make the trip more difficult, but you will have precious treasure chests on them.
The master mode doesn’t bring many changes. The missions remain the same and also the weapons, or the armor but the increased difficulty is a good motivation if you could defeat everything and everyone and put your own abilities under the test again.
