Fix Apex Legends Season 7 Stop Working, Hang and Crash

In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix when apex legends is stop working, hang or crashing on startup.

First, I suggest making sure that your Apex Legends files are intact and not corrupted. open up your Steam library. Then right click Apex Legends and select properties on the pop-up window navigate to the LOCAL FILES tab and select VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES. This will take a minute to re-download and replace any missing or corrupted game files.

You can do the same step using the origin or epic games launcher. When this is done navigate to the LOCAL FILES section and select Browse local files. Your file explorer will open up where you will have to navigate to the EasyAntiCheat folder and there double-click the EasyAntiCheat_Setup application. On this window make sure that Apex Legends is selected in the drop-down menu and select repair service. This should only take a few seconds to complete.

When this is done go back to the Apex Legends folder then right click r5apex and navigate to its properties. There in the compatibility tab make sure to disable full screen optimizations. Don't forget to apply your changes. You can now close these windows.

Next in case the issue persists then make sure that your graphics card driver and operating system is up to date.

I suggest using the Geforce experience application if you're using an Nvidia GPU but you can also use the AMD driver suit. Depending on how frequently you're updating your GPU. This tweak can make the biggest difference in the drivers tab. Simply click on download and the application will automatically download and install the latest driver.

When this is done search for update to open up your check for updates system settings window. There click on check for updates and after downloading the latest OS update. Make sure to restart your PC.

You should make sure to limit your FPS in the in-game video settings by using launch options. These launch options can be used on Steam, Epic Games or Origin but here I will use the steam launcher.

In your library right click Apex and navigate back to its properties. There in the general tab select Set Launch Options. In the dialog box write +fps_max followed by a value to which your in-game frame rate should be kept. When setting the value to 0 then your

frame rate is unkept which is not recommended to fix the crash on startup issue. So set this to a value above your screen's refresh rate and below the maximum FPS. For me it’s is around 180.

In case you still experience startup issues then you most likely have software running on your system which is hindering you from playing the game. To fix this I suggest uninstalling recently installed programs which can change your files or use up your available resources. In some cases even your firewall or anti-virus application can negatively impact the game's anti-cheat. Open up your task manager by right clicking your taskbar and selecting it. There in the processes tab make sure to end some programs from running in the background which you don't need while playing the game and which could trigger the anti-cheat software.

I hope this helped you out.
