If you have a monitor/TV that supports HDMI 2.1, HFR (High Frame Rate) and VRR (Variable Frame Rate), you can get the best performance. Thanks to HFR, the game runs in 1440p and lets you enjoy the action at 80-90 FPS. VRR also helps in synchronization between frame rate and the refresh rate of your monitor/television.
Therefore, we recommend that you select performance mode. In combat and boss fights with full of effects, a constant frame rate of 60 FPS is worth a lot more than slightly better visuals. In the most intense situations, image quality can drop from 4K all the way down to 1440p in performance mode, but even then the graphical difference is barely noticeable.
Also, if you play the PS4 version of Ragnarok on a PS5 via backwards compatibility, you get a resolution of 1440p - 1656p with a constant frame rate of 60 FPS. This is twice the FPS than on the PS4 Pro.
