League of Legends: how to fix LoL won’t start or run?

Many players are experiencing an issue with League of Legends (LoL) where the game won't launch, start or run. In this short guide, we’ll show you how to fix this problem. 

 

- There are several fixes available to you, the first being to check if you are indeed the cause of this problem! It sometimes happens that the game is in maintenance or is simply unavailable for a few minutes or even a few hours.

 

If no issues were reported on this page, then you can perform these steps:

 

- There may still be a LoL agent running in your PC, this could be the cause of the game not launching. To close this, use the task manager using CTRL + Shift + Esc and open it. Then find which process is named League of Legends or Riot. Then click on the software and then click on end of task.

 

Now try restarting the game.

- LoL has a repair feature that allows you to verify that the game files are not corrupted. To do this, all you have to do is go to the game files, launch it and then click on the gear and on the option “Perform a complete repair”.

 

- There may be a program conflicting with the game, so try restarting your computer to close any programs that may be conflicting with the game client.
