The Vortex Pinnacle is one of the iconic dungeons of the Cataclysm expansion, it takes place in the Elemental Plane of the Skywall. This dungeon is not very difficult and is one of the shortest in the new Season 2. In this strategy guide for bosses in The Vortex Pinnacle, we’ll show you how to defeat the second boss, Altairus.
Although, it may look like a dragon, Altairus is actually a Storm Wyrm. This Wyrm, just like its master, masters the wind, but also the ice!
- Never go outside the platform or you will be affected by Cold Front.
- Calling the wind always starts from the same place East > South > West > North. If you're in the right place, you can take advantage of Altairus' Rising Wind buff.
- When you have Call the Wind (Upwind / Downwind) from Altairus, move immediately.
- Avoid the Chilling Breath.
- Avoid Downburst.
When you see Downburst's channel, use one of the twisting Winds to launch yourself into the air to avoid damage.
